I’m Amber Taylor, founder of Launch Mode HQ. With over a decade of experience in commercialisation, I am an award-winning tech entrepreneur who has mentored entrepreneurs and CEOs across industries, and spoken on global stages about innovation, entrepreneurship, and Indigenous-led futures.
I help the world see what’s possible when Indigenous wisdom meets cutting-edge technology. My work sits at the intersection of Indigenous rights, digital sovereignty, and the future of ethical tech. I have led projects blending augmented and virtual realities, artificial intelligence, gamification, and storytelling to create immersive experiences grounded in place, culture, and connection. From education and health to tourism and environmental impact, I have built tech that strengthens identity and unlocks new futures.
My Founder Story
I did not build Launch Mode HQ from theory. I built it out of lived experience and mistakes. I have wasted months chasing ideas that looked good on paper but had no real demand. I have poured energy into building products before I had proof anyone wanted them. I know what it feels like to doubt yourself, to second-guess every decision, and to feel like you are working harder but not moving forward.
It can also be lonely. As a Māori woman in the tech sector, I know what it is like to be the only one in the room carrying Indigenous values, trying to build ethical and sustainable solutions in a world that measures everything by the bottom line. I have competed with heart against people who broke even months before me, but I refused to compromise my values to achieve the same outcome. That choice has not always been easy, but it has always been right.
That is why I designed Launch Mode to be different. It is built for solopreneurs, introverts, and busy people who do not have time for drawn-out incubators or endless online courses. It is lean, focused, and practical, because that is what I needed when I was in the trenches. I worked full-time, raised a young family, and built my first tech company at the same time. I know how demanding it is to carry all of that and still try to bring an idea to life.
